2008 Tristar Projections Box Break

Picked up a box of 2008 Tristar Projections on eBay for about $9 to my door. I don’t really ever do minor league stuff, but figured some cards would be nice for TTM if I got a few guys that interest me. So with 6 packs of 8 cards each and a guarantee for an autograph card in the box I eagerly tore into it and here is a bit of what I got…

#13 – David Robertson – Tampa Yankees – This is number 10/50, nice card being the Green Autograph card. He has thrown a few times for the Yanks this season with a 3.57 ERA over 22.2 innings of work.

#195 – Chris Volstad – Carolina Mudcats – Chris has since been picked up by the Florida Marlins and recently on July 9, 2009 threw a nice complete game shut out against the Giants – that game prevented the Marlins from getting swept out in San Fran.

#125 – Jay Bruce – Louisville Bats – “Bruce Almighty” is now patrolling the outfield in Cincinnati and had a nice opening day this year guninng a guy out at the plate from center.

#44 – David Price – Tampa Bay Rays – Price has made nine starts this year for Tampa Bay and has a 3 and 3 record with an ERA of 4.70 through 44.0 innings of work.

#175 – Eric Duncan – Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees – I like this card because Eric attended Seton Hall Prep High School, a team that I played against in high school. His senior year he batted an impressive .536 with 12 homers. It would be nice to see the kid in the Bronx one day.

Overall, not too bad – under 10 bucks for the box and I had a good time cracking it.
